Seven Fat loss tips to help you shed pounds.

If you want to lose some of your fat, don't go eating lettuce leaves, don't starve yourself and don't go running round the block wearing bin liners just follow these simple fat loss tips.

1. Eat smaller portions more often

Eat more meals but have smaller portions, eat 5-6 small meals a day as opposed to 2 or 3 very large ones. Never miss meals, if you don’t currently eat breakfast then start. Eat healthy snacks like fruit between meals. Eating more frequently prevents hunger pangs and the crisp binges that follow, eating more often gives you consistent energy, eating also speeds up your metabolism meaning you burn more calories.

2. Drink Water

A lot of the time we confuse hunger with thirst, if you feel hungry have a glass of water before stuffing your face. You can also replace sugary drinks with water cutting your calorie intake and saving your teeth.

3. Cut Down on sugar

Sugar is what’s called a simple Carbohydrate, it provides our body with a lot of instant energy within a very short period of time. If you don’t use that energy it gets stored as fat.

Sugar causes an insulin spike which is followed by a drop in insulin levels, this drop leaves you feeling tired, hungry and wanting to eat more sugar.

4. Exercise

Regular exercise offers a variety of health benefits including fat and weight loss, exercise does this by speeding up your metabolic rate which means you burn more calories not only during exercise but for a long time after.

Exercise also helps tone your body and create a better appearance.

5. Don't remove fat from your diet completely

Don’t cut the fat out completely, you need fat in your diet it plays a vital role in your body. Fat is required by your bodies vital organs and for the absorption of vitamins.

Trying to remove fat completely from your diet will make your body hoard the fat it does get. Some fats are good, like below.

6. Increase your EFA intake

Essential Fatty Acids are unsaturated fats that can not be constructed within the body and need to be obtained via your diet. Dietary deficiency of Essential Fatty Acids can cause major health problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.

Alcohol will also increase levels of the stress hormone cortisol in your blood, cortisol increases your blood pressure, increases your blood sugar and reduces your immune responses.

good simple steps to living healthy. I'm thinking we make it all too complicated. Eating less moving more...it's always boiling down to that!! great info!!

We do tend to make things more complicated than they need to be. I'm sure there are genetics at play, preventing me from weighing 90 pounds or Mary Kate Olsen from weighing 300. But we can all be our healthiest weight, where ever that falls on the scale.
